Library Christmas Opening Hours

Please see our change of opening hours over the next two weeks:

All libraries will be open from 9.30am - 5.00pm on Monday 21 December to Wednesday 23 December.

All libraries will be open from 9.30am - 1.00pm on Thursday 24 December.

All libraries will be closed Friday 25 December until Monday 4 January when we will resume normal operating hours.

Library staff wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Yourtutor - Extended holiday hours

Need study assistance over the holidays? For the first time ever, the YourTutor service will be open during summer. Senior students, tertiary students (who might be studying across summer), and any student who might want to use the service before school goes back, can take advantage of the summer hours.

During summer, students can access live help or get feedback on their writing using the 'Check Mate' feature. Check out Yourtutor's new summer hours here.

Reading Logs - Summer Reading Club

The more you read during the Summer Reading Club, the more chances you have to win great prizes!

If you need additional reading logs, you can collect them from any Campbelltown Library branch or print your own copies at home by clicking on the reading log picture.

Extended Borrowing and Unlimited Loans

It's time to stock up on your holiday reading! Extended loans and unlimited loans start on Tuesday 1 December. All loans will be 6 weeks over the Christmas and New Year period and you can borrow as many items as you like. New members will still be limited to 4 items, but may enjoy the extended loans.

The Summer Reading Club

The Summer Reading Club is coming! This year the theme is 'Lost Worlds' and encourages children and young adults, aged 0 to 16 years, to read books that will take them to exciting and different worlds. Maybe you'll explore the ancient world of Egypt or the Aztec Empire, search for the lost city of Atlantis, or hide from dinosaurs in the Jurassic Period!

Registration for the Summer Reading Club starts on Tuesday 1 December 2015 and runs until Sunday 17 January 2016. You can join at any Campbelltown City Library branch. You'll receive a starter bag when you register which will include reading logs, activity sheets, stickers and more! Every time you return a completed reading log to the library you'll go in the draw to win a prize.

There will be a party to celebrate everyone's reading achievements on Thursday 21 January 2016, so look out for your invitation in the mail!

Children's Book Week is here!

Happy Children's Book Week everyone!

We are celebrating Children's Book Week with a variety of activities throughout the week. Why not pop in to your local library this week and see what is going on.

For the babies we have a special Baby Read 'n' Rhyme session at HJ Daley Library on Monday 24 August from 10.30am to 11am.

We also have special storytimes in our regular time slots and displays in all branches of the library as well as our lucky draw prize.

For any child or young adult who borrows with their library card at any branch of the library from Friday 21 August to Friday 28 August can enter the Lucky Draw. There will be two winners from every branch. Entries open today and close 28 August. All winners will be notified on Friday 4 September.

Children's Book Week is Coming

We are starting to get ready for Children's Book Week. There's only a few more days to go! The winners of the Children's Book of the Year will be announced on Friday 21 August. Your favourite book might be the winner!

During the week, the library will have displays of the shortlisted titles and a few special activities.

This year the theme for Book Week is 'Books Light Up Our World' and runs from Saturday 22 August to Friday 28 August.

You can find the Short Listed books on the CBCA website. Winners will be announced at midday on Friday 21 August.

HSC Study Skills - Lecture

Our final HSC lecture at Campbelltown Library will be on tomorrow night, Tuesday 2 June at 5.30pm. The lecture will cover study tips and HSC library resources to help you get the most out of your study preparation before the exams.
 
The lecture is free and bookings are essential.
 
We wish all HSC students the best of luck as you prepare for the trials and the HSC examination.

Free Comic Book Day 2015

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it's Free Comic Book Day! This worldwide event arrives at HJ Daley Library on Saturday 2 May from 10am - 3pm.
 
There will be free comic giveaways (while stocks last), character meet and greets, superhero storytime, 5 minute sketches, superhero drawing workshop, craft, games, quidditch and more!

If you are looking for suggested related material, you can find a list in our HSC Resources section of the library or follow our Pinterest Board filled with related texts.

Remember to check with your teacher if you choose something from the list.

Homework help at Campbelltown Library!

The library's free online tutoring service, Yourtutor, is available from 4pm - 8pm, Monday to Friday. Students in Year 3 to Year 12, including TAFE level, can get free one-to-one help right when they need it.

Students simply log in using their library card and ask a question in English, maths, science, research skills and more. A live, real-time expert tutor is waiting to help them work it out.
