July School Holiday Activities 2013

During the July school holidays, Campbelltown City Library will be running a variety of activities for teens. Below is a list of all the activities for young adults in the school holidays:

Yoga Class
Learn how to be stress free with yoga poses, acrobatic moves, meditation and breathing, in a fun, relaxing environment. Beginners welcome.

Magic Class
Ever wondered how magicians perform all those incredible tricks and illusions? Now you can perform them too! Learn magic from a professional magician in this fun, entertaining class so you can dazzle your family and friends!

Dungeons & Dragons Workshop

Best Dressed Competition

Comic fans of all ages dressed up as their favourite comic book character during Free Comic Book Day at HJ Daley Library on Saturday 4 May.

The person voted best-dressed and one voter at random will each win a $50 movie voucher! Voting closes at 5pm on Sunday 12 May. Winners will be announced on Monday 13 May.

Join in the Fun of Free Comic Book Day!

Worldwide Free Comic Book Day will arrive at HJ Daley Library on Saturday 4 May from 10am to 3pm.

This year there will be free comic book give-aways, activities, displays and competitions. Dress-up as your favourite comic book character on the day and you'll go in the draw to win a fantastic prize!

Youth Week 2013 and April School Holidays

During Youth Week and the April school holidays, Campbelltown City Library will be running a variety of activities for teens. Here is a list of all the activities for young adults in the school holidays:

DJ Workshop
Enjoy a mix of rap, lyric writing and DJing in this hands-on workshop. You'll also have the opportunity to record your own sounds. Bookings are open from Saturday 16 March. Places are limited.

Art Attack
Explore your creative side in this beginner's art class, where you will learn how to use watercolour paints to create your own visual masterpiece. Bookings open on Monday 8 April. Places are limited.

Youth Week Competition
Create a book trailer to promote your favourite young adult book using programs available on your computer. A great movie trailer encourages viewers to see a film; a great book trailer does the same for a novel. Making your own book trailer is fun, free and easy. You'll also go into the draw to win some great prizes!

Book trailers should be less than two minutes. Save your book trailer onto a USB. Please attach a document to your USB with your name, age and a contact number. Remember to include the title of the book and the author's name.

Entries open: Friday 5 April
Entries close: Friday 26 April

Tip: Check out youtube or do a google search for book trailers for some ideas.

Entries can be submitted to any Campbelltown City Library branch.
Winners will be notified by phone on Friday 10 May.

Summer Reading Club Party

The Summer Reading Club party saw over 100 children, teens and parents at HJ Daley library on Thursday 24 January! Everyone enjoyed music, games, food, prizes, balloon animals and a very special guest appearance by Cat in the Hat.
